The Schizophrenic Phase

How are you guys doing?

I received my proof copies of The Tourist on Wednesday. Whoo hoo! Uhm, whoo-nooo! I was so happy for about ten seconds. Then terror set in when I thought about the day when the 'publish now button' is to be clicked. Er...no! I decided that the book will never see the light of day and I threw it to the ground and stepped on it-well...stomped is more accurate. The next minute I snatched my baby off the floor and wiped her off. Writing is an experience like no other; I spent the past five months in a serious Jekyll and Hyde mode. It went something like this:

-Oh my...I love that scene, it's definitely my favourite.

-Seriously Olivia? What the heck is this?

-I hate this book!

-This laptop is going to die today!

-The Tourist is killing me...I am going to die today!

-I love this book!

-Can't wait to finish so I can share this story.

-I can't let go of this book-ever!

You may be wondering which Olivia is on duty today, well it's the Olivia that changed her mind and is going to publish The Tourist. I am tentatively eyeing November for the release and trying to pin down a date. If you're on my mailing list you will receive further details next month.

Author Feature: Marni MacRae

Lady Sun, Marni MacRae’s debut novel, came about on a cold December night when she wished desperately to escape winter boredom. The story was mainly for her husband’s entertainment but as it grew, she fell in love with the main characters, Sophia and Lucas. The story was put on hold with the birth of her seventh child. After falling from a horse and breaking her pelvic bone in two places, she made the most of her confinement and completed Lady Sun.

Born in the south, Marni spent many days skipping school to hide in the bushes and read all day long. She always dreamed of becoming a writer, having grown up listening to her mother-an epic storyteller, weave magical tales. Marni always had a passion for creating stories and began writing in earnest at the age of twenty and finally summoned the courage to publish in 2015. She has been over the moon since taking that huge step.

This forty-one year old mom lives in the beautiful Northwest with her husband and children; spending her time chasing around one of her six sons, mucking stalls or milking goats. Stolen moments are spent hammering away at the keyboard.
